Nobody needs Windows 7.

Why not?  We're glad you asked.

Windows 7 is NO better than Windows XP or Windows Vista.  To put it plainly, Windows 7 is just another way for Microsoft to get even more money from existing PC users.  There are absolutely no advantages to it over any other current OS.

Windows 7 SinsWindows 7, like all Microsoft products is proprietary software which means that Microsoft reserves full ownership of it regardless of what you pay or how you buy it, and has the legal right to control your computer and how you use it, whether you like it or not.  This is frequently very hard for most users to believe, and most of us don't fully understand how it hurts us every day.

Interestingly enough, there is nothing wrong with Windows XP.  We don't care for Vista, but if you have it, you may as well keep it rather than switch to 7.  In fact, we think that XP is by far the best operating system that Microsoft ever made (except for the expense and proprietary nature of it).

We have a whole list of other reasons why everyone should avoid Windows 7 and other proprietary software, such as Digital Rights Management that prevents you from using or sharing the information on your computer in any way that Microsoft or it's partners doesn't approve of.

However, we also have a long list of free alternatives that may surprise you.  Read more about them in the Support Section.  Quality, free software is sure to save you money, time, headaches and maybe even legal problems without giving up any features.
